About this site

How it works

We don't run roofing crews. When you call, we connect you with an independent local roofing contractor that serves your address. They inspect the roof, give you their price and do the work.

What this site is

Roofers Clearwater is a referral service for homeowners in Clearwater and nearby Pinellas County communities who are planning a roof replacement or a new roof. The guides explain the materials, the Florida rules and what goes into the price, so you can talk to a contractor knowing what to ask.

When you call, you are connected with an independent local roofing contractor that serves your area. That company is a separate business. It inspects the roof, gives you its own price and, if you hire it, does the work and stands behind it.

The site is run by Gunnar Bengtsson. It has no office open to the public.

How it works

From the call to a new roof

  1. 01

    Call

Tell us where the home is and what kind of roof it has. We connect you with an independent roofing contractor that serves your address.

  2. 02

    Inspection and price

The contractor looks at the roof, checks the deck and attic where they can, and gives you a written scope and price.

  3. 03

    Permit and materials

If you go ahead, the contractor pulls the permit from the city or county and orders approved materials.

  4. 04

    New roof and final

The old roof comes off, the new one goes on, and the job finishes with a passed final inspection.

How the site is paid

You don't pay us anything. Contractors, or the referral network they belong to, may pay us when a call is connected. The contractor sets its own prices, and you are never obliged to hire them.

This site does not help with insurance claims and does not refer claim work. Full details are in the referral disclosure.

Before you hire anyone

Five checks worth a few minutes

  • Look up the contractor's Florida license at myfloridalicense.com.
  • Ask for proof of liability and workers' compensation insurance.
  • Get the full scope and price in writing, including how rotten wood is charged.
  • Confirm who pulls the permit and that it is posted before work starts.
  • Check your HOA's rules on roof material and color.
